Local author Martin Dorey is writing a new book, “The Campervan Bible”, which will include camper vans of all shapes and sizes. Retro Tourer was invited along to a photo shoot at a studio in Bristol (Band Film Studios) last Friday. As well as the commercial tourer, we also took along our 1954 VW Barndoor Campervan as Martin wanted to photograph the original Westfalia camping box interior.

The set up at the studio was incredible: we were able to drive the commercial tourer right in.

Buzz normally hates having his photograph taken, but Martin Dorey and his crew made us feel totally relaxed and we both enjoyed the day very much.

Martin Dorey is a writer, surfer, VW owner and keen shrimper and also the presenter of a BBC2 TV show called One man And His Campervan. Shame we didn’t have the cooker set up in the commercial tourer or I’m sure he could have rustled up something delicious for our lunch!
