The Final Fling – Woolacombe

The Final Fling is a Volkswagen event arranged by the NDVWC (North Devon VW Club). Camping takes place at Little Roadway Farm, high on a hill above Woolacombe.

Buzz arranges a cruise of split screen campervans from Junction 27 off the M5 at Tiverton and leads them along the A361 through Braunton and up to the camp site above Woolacombe. He does this in his own 1954 barndoor camper.

There are stalls, food, drink and a marquee with live music from local bands. The weather tends to be a bit damp and blustery, but everyone has a great time all the same.

This year, Buzz had just about finished the Retro Tourer Motorhome and so took that and the Commercial along to the Final Fling for the weekend after the cruise in his old camper.

Glorious Sunny Sunday, Woolacombe

On the Sunday morning, there is a cruise from the camp site down into Woolacombe. The weather this year was glorious and sunny. The main car park was full of Volkswagens old and new – beetles, campervans, T4’s, T5’s, beach buggies and both the Retro Tourer Motorhome and Retro Tourer Commercial.

The Red Barn, Woolacombe

Woolacombe is a wonderful holiday destination and we are lucky enough to live close by. You can’t beat cheesy chips at The Red Barn whilst gazing out across the sea!
