Surfing in North Devon

We are extremely lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world, with the sea a mere 10 minute drive from home.  It’s one of the reasons we moved to North Devon over 10 years ago. Buzz used to drive hours for a surf at the weekend (which didn’t always go down too well with the wife..)  Now he has the luxury of being able to surf whenever the conditions are right and so long as he’s not too busy in the workshop building motorhomes of course!

Motorhome with Surfboard Storage

Although we loved our first custom built motorhome, we wanted to try a different layout and the original design didn’t have space for a surf board. Since we started Retro Tourer a few years ago, we also have a new addition to the family – Baxter the Boxer Dog. He needs his own space too!

The Martini Motorhome has a large storage area, which is accessible from the outside and fits a surf board. It also has a door inside so when we park up, the board goes under the motorhome and this spacious cupboard becomes a luxury bed for Baxter. He can’t wait to climb inside!

Not So Big Wednesday

Buzz now tries to make time in the summer to have a surf on Wednesday evenings. Sometimes it might just be chilling on the beach if there’s no surf, or maybe a cool beer in the local pub…

We invite you to come down to Woolacombe beach, Marine Drive car park in, ideally in your favourite vehicle and enjoy the atmosphere. Surf board not essential..

Over the summer holidays, check out our facebook page for further details of our “Not So Big Wednesday” barbecue nights. We supply the hot dogs, you supply the drinks. Come down, meet the team and relax in the beautiful North Devon surroundings.
